Happy Birthday To My Mom!

Happy Birthday to a very special mom, mother-in-law, and Grammy in our lives....my mom. Thirty-five years ago :) today, this world was blessed when my mom enter this world, and my sister and I became the luckiest girls to be given a mom as extraordinary as she is.

She is such a huge part of my life and always has been. She is always there when I need her from questions, to advice, or just for a hug and being my mommy....and yes, still to this day I need a mommy, not a mom or mother, but a mommy. No matter what it is or what it has been in the past, she is there by my side and as my rock. I would be very lucky to half the mother that she has been for me....and for that I say thank and I love you so, so much.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM / GRAMMY!!!!

Sweet Dreams, Little One

I have to say a special THANK YOU to Narci for this perfect and adorable nap mat...it's a hit with Mommy and Brayden. This is one of the supplies we need for his MDO, and I have been on a search for a reasonable but yet still had all the features (pillow and blanket attached) I wanted nap mat...plus a really cute print didn't hurt either. So when I saw the monkey fabric I was interested (Brayden has been our little monkey from the beginning and love his monkey stuffed animal, so if it has a monkey we love it), and when I saw the price I was sold. He is the little man himself trying it out, and being the cute little model he is.

My Little Boy

This morning getting ready, I was listening to the radio, and listening to the moms calling in telling their stories of dropping the kids off for the 1st day of school for the first time. I am in tears trying to put my make-up on (that went real well) sympathizing with them and realizing my day is getting closer. My sweet little boy is a week and a half away from starting his mother's day out program for the first time. Even though, it is just 2 days a week, it hit me as to why I am so sad, for me that is, I am SO excited and happy for him. This is the last few days of having him with me, by my side everyday, having our silly conversations, driving me crazy, counting down the hours til nap or bedtimes sometimes for the rest of his life. So from here on, it will never be he and I together everyday, and it breaks my heart a little because he is truly growing up faster than what maybe I am ready for. And now I have to drive off those 2 days putting my trust in his teacher that she will take care of him while I am not there and hoping it's enough. Now I feel like what maybe Brayden feels when he doesn't want to take a nap, afraid of what he might miss...what if I miss something so cute and so hilarious he said that day. Maybe now, as my husband reads this, he may understand a little bit better of why I may tear up a little over this next big step. But I promise you, I am so excited for my little B-boy and the stories he will come home with, and the friends he will make, and the memories that will be had from here on throughout his school life.

So with the sad also comes the happy, and with Brayden out of the house for a couple of days during the week, this will give Alex a chance of having some one-on-one time with me, which I am sure he will enjoy and so will I. Alex has so few and far between moments of just he and one of us w/o Brayden, so this will be a true treat. Ahhhh, and the chance to grocery shop with just one child...and one that sits in the basket and doesn't have to be told "put that back" or "get over here" a thousand times... just yet

So this was my moment to vent my feelings, as it will weigh heavy on my mind til the 1st day passes, and it just becomes our normal routine and one day barely being able to remember the days of having them with me everyday. *Sniff, sniff*

Daddy & Me (Brayden)

What I do for one...I got to do for the other...Alex is next :)
Brayden waiting for Daddy to get home
Look at my little boy :)!
YEA! Go, B!!!!
Daddy & B stopping by to say "Hi!"
And they're off!! Bye, guys!

After work on Monday, Wally took Brayden up to the club for a little golf and some father-son bonding time. I had the true pleasure getting Brayden ready while Wally was on his way home. He was so excited as I got him dressed, he picked out the polo and shorts he wanted to wear on his golf excursion. He then went and got his "Caddy Bear" (a little gift Wally brought back for the boys from Pebble Beach) and his golf bag and clubs, and waited by the door for Daddy. He was so excited and so ready that he was upset to have to wait a few more minutes for Daddy to change :).

During the outing, since we live on the course they were playing on, Wally called to tell us to come outside, so I was able to say "hi", see my boys, and give Brayden a little treat...a lollipop. Then the rain came, so they wrapped up, and Wally took Brayden to get some pizza and chocolate cake....YUMMY! I was a bit jealous, because they ate at my favorite lil' restaurant here in McKinney, but I am so glad they had a great time.

While they were gone, Alexander and I had a fun hanging out just the 2 of us. That was a treat because that doesn't happen very often, and I would never trade my two boys for the world, but having just one from time to time is a treat...so easy and a bit more quiet. We went a picked up dinner, we played, we danced, and he and I got on the little quad car and drove around the house (he loved that since he doesn't get to ride on it much when Brayden is home). All around it was a great Monday evening for all of us.

The Golf Pro

Yea, me! Gotta LOVE Photoshop and my handsome husband for giving me great tools to create a magazine cover;)
Wally at Pebble Beach
YEA!
Hole in One...just kidding! But he as done it before.
Not a bad vacation

So my hubby went to California for a few days...OK, 5 to be exact, but who's counting, right?! He went for a little get away of relaxation and golf. I wasn't there, so I can't give an exact recap, but I do know he enjoyed his time (but missed us a bunch), the cooler temps, the golfing, and the scenery. He played Pebble Beach (which he loves), Poppy Hill, and Spy Glass. Everyday that we talked after golf he was content with how he played (which is huge since he doesn't play these on a regular basis) getting scores in the lower to mid 80's. Go, Wally, Go! Whoo-hoo, PGA tour, here we come :)!! (Thought, you would like that one, Walls)

It's Raining, It's Pouring....

Nothing special to report here....except it was cloudy when I opened the blinds this morning ( I swear I was about to do a dance) and it has now rain twice today and has remained mostly cloudy. But as I am typing this entry the sun is coming out, so maybe I jinxed it. Oh-well...it has been nice to see clouds and rain...finally.

Muscles All Around...What's A Girl To Do

The start of Brayden's push-up
Actually doing it really well...my almost 3 year old!
Alex's turn (his shirt is off b/c he can't keep a shirt dry to save his life right now)
He's trying.....
"Hmmm....let me try this way." Daddy spotting and helping...this is what bring fun to a workout, the boys mimicking

What happens when Wally brings out his push-up handles?!....Everyone wants to do a push-up, even little Alexander. But from the pics you might say he needs to do a little sit-up action with his cute little buddha belly (his belly was full from dinner). It was so funny to watch the boys want to copy Daddy and take turns after Wally did his set. Testosterone will soon be popping out of the seams in our household, that's for sure, along with golf....yea, for me ;)!

All Aboard The Choo-Choo Train....

There is nothing better than watching your boys play together and getting along. I had to put in the getting along part because these days we have our moments of Alexander whining b/c Brayden has taken a toy away from him or Brayden is roughing him up a little too hard. Or Brayden comes to tattle on Alex because he has pushed B-boy...so Brayden says "Alex needs time-out". I'm sure this is only a snip-it of what is really to come. But bring it on if I also get what is in these pics..."brothers".
