Sweet Talk

Finally when our boys are a sleep, the house is quiet, and it is just Wally and I, it gives us time to finally have "grown-up" talk and reflect on the day , and catch him up on what the boys are doing. I usually have a funny story or two about Brayden, or something new he has learned. Now that he is becoming a little boy, he amazes us all the time with the things he says and does, both of them do, and at the end of the day they both bring a smile to our faces.

I love now that Brayden and I can talk during the day and actually catch a few words and know what he is saying...it’s almost (I use almost loosely here) like we are having a conversation. We have worked with him on his "please" and "thank you" and when to say them, but the other day he completely caught me off guard with something he said, showing me how much he truly watches and mimics us. We were just doing are normal playing and I sneezed, and Brayden stopped with what he was playing with and said "bless". I said thank you out of normal reaction when someone says "bless you" after a sneeze, and stopped to realize what he had said and when he said it. He learned that just by watching us and not by us teaching him. It’s those moments that truly just melt your heart.

I just had to share my amazement and love of this little boy growing up, and to think we get to see and experience this all over again with Alexander...I can’t wait!

Here's a video clip of our favorite words from Brayden, although he is talking kinda quietly (not like him at all). Here he is saying "bless", "please", and my favorite although it is not what we really encourage, but goes to show that he listens and mimics when we talk is "Wally" or as he says "Wa-wee". He said that one day when Wally and I were talking and I called him by his name and next thing we know Brayden said it, too.
